Pre-Academic Program

The College has a unique Pre-Academic Program that prepares students prior to studies for a first degree in engineering.  The Pre-Academic Program is an integral part of the College and constitutes an additional track for acceptance into engineering studies for a bachelor’s degree.  Graduates of the Pre-Academic Program who have successfully completed the course of studies may be accepted at any of the departments of the College.

The activities of the Pre-Academic Program are under the supervision of the Association for Educational Advancement.  The teaching staff is comprised of experienced lecturers who are familiar with the requirements of the College and the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

The following courses are studied at the Pre-Academic Program: mathematics, English and physics, both as preparation for matriculation exams of the Ministry of Education and as preparation toward studies for a first degree in engineering.  Additional subjects include academic writing and reading and the use of computers as a basis for continuing studies.

Beyond official study hours, the Pre-Academic Program provides supplementary lessons in order to deepen understanding of the material being studied.  Personal and professional advice is provided for students in study subjects and in fields related to student welfare, economic assistance grants and subsistence grants in accordance with special criteria, and dormitories.
